Gabriela Mistral

 In the first year of the course we were told a lot about Gabriela Mistral and the many things she did during her years of professional life. They told us that she was an educator in one of the most famous schools in Chile "Liceo de niñas N°6". In those years many discredited her work, because of the way she taught and her thoughts about the mediocre education of those times. She knew that the only way to progress as a society was through education and she implied that in her poetry and writings. 

For these reasons, I feel that she is one of the most incredible people in the field of Education, because of her passion and the way she did not let herself be underestimated just for being a "woman", especially in a society as sexist as this one. 

Gabriela Mistral was born on April 7, 1889 and died on January 10, 1957. In our country she is recognized for being one of the greatest poets of Chile and winner of awards and recognitions for her work during her years.
